About the Artist
ART iZ...©, founded in the 90’s, is based on one artist’s view that Art is, fundamentally a creation in no particular medium, that makes us feel differently.
Amy Steinmetz, founder of ART iZ…©, is that artist. Amy sees beauty in much that is already around her. While she does not replicate that in a traditional way in her work, Amy trusts her sub or unconscious to manifest as she draws, cuts, or sculpts her designs. From her prints, Amy generates new ideas and will often extrapolate one section of the design, set it apart from the whole and see if that piece or icon can stand alone as a singular piece of art.
Amy has been crafting her colorful and whimsical style for two decades and she continues to expand her palette of mediums.
It is no coincidence that Amy loved the Hidden Pictures from Highlight Magazine . Very often, particularly in her Papercuts, Amy has hidden an animal, fish, person, symbol, widget, or musical instrument. See what else you can find in her designs! They are sure to tickle you!
Amy Steinmetz has exhibited her art and sold her cards at the Open Center, New York City; Framingham Public Library; Morse Institute and H.Brandt Jewelers,(Natick); Grace Church and Jennifer’s (Framingham). Amy recently exhibited her art at Bacon Free Library in South Natick as well as the WATER exhibit at Morse Institute Library in Natick, MA. Amy has participated in NAOS (Natick Artists Open Studios) since 2005.
Amy works out of her studio at 4 Look Out Ave, Natick, MA.
